J.P. Tamvada wins DRUID Best Dissertation Award
Dr. Jagannadha Pawan Tamvada, Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute of Economis in Jena, received the Inaugural Best Dissertation Award of the Danish Research Unit for Industrial Dynamics at the DRUID 25th Celebration Conference in Copenhagen. In his awarded Dissertation "Essays on Entrepreneurship and Economic Development" J. P. Tamvada analyses the determinants and impacts of Entrepreneurship in his native country India.
- Dr. Erik Stam has won the Herbert Simon Prize for his paper "Entrepreneurship and Innovation Policy".
The paper analyses the nature of entrepreneurship, and how this does and does not overlap with innovation. This is illustrated by international and historical comparisons of the prevalence of entrepreneurship, and the policy implications of this. The prize has been awarded at the conference of the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy in Porto (Portugal).

Holger Patzelt wins the "Haarmann Prize" for best doctoral thesis
Holger Patzelt received the "Haarmann Prize" of the University of Bamberg for the best doctoral thesis of the years 2006/2007 in the social sciences. The winner of the Haarmann Prize is awarded 2500 Euros.
